“Ride for the Roses” Finish is Just the Beginning of Flowerbud.com’s Support of the Lance Armstrong Foundation
Online floral retailer invites customers to support LAF with each Tribute Bouquet purchase

Lake Oswego, Ore. — September 29, 2004 — Flowerbud.com announced today it will expand its signature floral support of the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s (LAF) Ride for the Roses with a year’s commitment to donate 10% of gross proceeds from its Lance Armstrong Tribute Bouquets to the LAF.  The 2004 Ride for the Roses Weekend takes place October 15–17 in Austin, Texas.  Flowerbud.com will offer tribute donations through October 2005.

During the Ride Weekend,
Flowerbud.com will donate thousands of roses and other flowers to the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s (LAF) events that celebrate the fundraising efforts of the Peloton Project, the Foundation’s major outreach and cancer awareness effort.

“This is the third year we’ve been privileged to provide roses for cancer survivors at the finish line, plus each year we design a Tribute Bouquet in honor of the event, but I’ve been thinking we can help even more,” said
Flowerbud.com founder and CEO Mark Hayes. “So this year we’re enlisting our customers.” said Hayes

“It’s easy — our customers purchase a Lance Armstrong Tribute Bouquet and
Flowerbud.com donates 10% of our gross proceeds from these purchases to LAF,” Hayes said.

The current LAF Tribute Bouquet #6 features yellow Roses, yellow Calla Lilies and yellow Alstroemeria in a Mason Jar.  The bouquet will change seasonally to offer the most glorious displays of flowers fresh from growers’ fields.

“The beautiful
roses that Flowerbud.com provides for the courageous cancer survivors that finish our Ride for the Roses event are a meaningful tribute to their triumph,” said Bianca Bellavia, the LAF’s director of communications and outreach, “ Flowerbud.com is a generous supporter of our mission and we are so grateful for their commitment to the Lance Armstrong Foundation.”

The Peloton Project is the LAF’s major grassroots fundraising and outreach project and includes cyclists, cancer survivors and other volunteers who raise funds and awareness for the LAF in their local communities.  Already this year, the Peloton Project has raised more than $5 million for the LAF’s mission and programs.

Ride for the Roses Weekend is among the most popular and significant events in the world of cycling.  Thousands of riders from across the country and overseas bike with Lance through the Texas Hill Country.  Race distances vary from six to 100 miles, enabling individuals of all ages and cycling levels to participate.  Last year the event raised more than $4 million for the LAF.
