Irises, Grand Box

The Iris can be traced back as far as 1950 B.C., when the Pharaoh Thutmosis I brought them back to Egypt after the Syrian wars. In Greek mythology, Iris was the messenger of the gods and the rainbow linking earth with other worlds. White Irises, the color of mourning, were planted on Muslim graves.

Irises have been grown in virtually all temperate parts of the world. The only places they are not found are in tropical climates. Our growers in Northern California have consistently produced award-winning specimens. The Telstar variety we've chosen, for example, is noted for its longer vase life than other varieties. The colors are simply wondrous, the flowers intricate, and the freshness unmatched.
