La Mancha Lilies
For Don Quixote, the beauty was an illusion; the silk purse was in fact a sow's ear, and his noble steed was a lowly nag. In contrast, these La Mancha Lilies easily live up to the superlatives of their reputation, with extra-large buds that bloom gradually to reveal even larger blooms.
Speckled pink and red, those blooms are reminiscent of Stargazers, if the smaller flowers were seen through the rose-colored glasses of the man from La Mancha.
Each La Mancha Lily stem holds three to five buds, which will blossom in approximately five to seven days, filling your home with their sweet fragrance.
Note: Oriental Lilies arrive in bud form and will begin to bloom within a few days of your online flower delivery.

Lilies have been cultivated in gardens and acclaimed in literature for centuries. Shakespeare, Joubert and Tennyson make reference to this symbol of purity, chastity and pallor. In the Bible it is mentioned more often than the Rose and, in fact, was adopted by the church as the Virgin Mary's flower.
Until 1925 or so, the various original species made up the preponderance of Lilies sold. At that point, hybridizers learned how to produce hybrid Lilies that were healthier, hardier and more ornamentally desirable. While easier to grow, today's hybrids still require a green thumb of substantial experience. The growers we've selected are among the few producers of Lilies who can consistently meet our standards for perfection.
