Our Flowers

Flowers should be fresh, abundant, and beautiful. They should also be high-quality, with long vase lives, large blossoms, and multiple buds (when applicable). It's easy to tell when your flowers are beautiful, and that you've received lots of them, but there are quite a few other factors that we take into account when we're making sure you get the best flowers possible. Curious about what they are? Keep reading.

Most of our flowers are shipped in bud form (hence the name, Flowerbud.com). Not only do you get the pleasure of watching them open, the bud protects the delicate bloom while the flowers are in transit, ensuring that your flowers arrive unmarred. Some varieties, such as Roses and Gerbera Daisies are best shipped in early bloom, and our potted Orchids arrive with a few open flowers. Either way, you can be sure that the flowers were harvested at the peak of perfection, and will arrive with a long vase life ahead of them.

You can also be sure that they were harvested recently; most of our flowers are cut and shipped on the same day, so they arrive at your door less than 24 hours after they leave the field, they are carefully cooled and hydrated before shipping. In contrast, flowers that you buy in a store may have been in transit for up to a week before you receive them, moving from the grower to the wholesaler to the retail seller. Our grower-direct flowers cut out that system of trucks, coolers, and middlemen, ensuring that your flowers are as fresh as possible.

Cutting out the middlemen also lets us choose our growers carefully, giving us access to the best flowers in the world. Our growers are the best in the business, and we only accept their best flowers; our Roses are truly long-stemmed, our Lilies have three to five buds per stem, and our Freesia have extra-large blooms.

We also ask them to pack those premium flowers in large bunches, known in the floral trade as “grower's bunches.” These bunches are the way flowers are packed to be shipped to wholesalers, but they're usually split into smaller bunches before they reach the consumer. We don't see any reason to do that, so you'll always receive a full bunch of flowers, whether it's 25 Roses, 15 Stargazer Lilies, or 60 Mini Gerbera Daisies. If that doesn't sound like enough, you might want to investigate our Grand Boxes; designed to be truly indulgent, these boxes include up to 120 flowers.
